They come from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, and the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg. Copies are kept on this site.

This site sets no cookies. Visits are counted with GoatCounter, without any personal data.
One exception: the language menu on the Photographers pages. When you choose a language, your browser remembers it (in its local storage), and the text of the page is sent to Google Translate to be translated. Nothing is sent unless you choose a language.
